We are a fishing and hunting lodge on the remote side of Kodiak Island that accommodates 24 guests and 16 crew. Looking for an appetizer/dinner/dessert chef for our summer season (mid-June to late September) with possibility of fall season (October 23 to December 19) and spring season (mid-April to May 16) as well.

Position includes appetizers for guests at 5pm, dinner for crew at 6:30pm and 3 course plated dinner for guests at 7pm. You can create your own menu or use past menus. Example appetizers include salmon cakes, stuffed mushrooms, flat bread pizza, quesadillas, Mediterranean skewers, fish dip, etc. Dinner includes a starter of soup or salad. Entrees are typically a 6 night rotating menu of halibut, chicken, salmon, steak, fishps and pork. Past desserts include cheesecake, bread pudding, brownie parfait, creme brule, rustic apple pie, chocolate panna cotta, Kentucky butter cake, etc. Crew occasionally eats the same meals as clients, but the repetition can get old, so often will prefer more homestyle meals such as lasagna, pasta, burritos, burgers, BBQ, curries, etc.

The Lodge has a breakfast/lunch chef, two dishwasher/servers and a guest services person to assist. All 5 positions are filled with returning crewmembers. The expectation should be working 7 days per week for the entire season but you can coordinate with the breakfast/lunch chef to give each other days off or meals off.

Candidates must have significant cooking experience. Ideal candidates also have experience working 7 days per week and experience in a remote environment. Formal training preferred but not required. Chef must be able to accommodate allergies and special dietary needs. There are no stores in Larsen Bay, so accurate ordering is also important.

We have a strict no-drama policy as we are a small, close group working together in a remote environment. Must be a hardworking team player, with pride in what you do, committed to doing the best job possible. Must be honest, dependable, committed, flexible and positive.

Compensation includes salary plus tips ($11,000-$14,000 per month) and season-end bonus. Also includes roundtrip plane tickets for each season, a room with private bathroom, all meals, laundry, and wifi.
