Technical Service Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead technical support initiatives for customers operating wide web flexographic and gravure printing systems.
• Provide expert guidance on the use and performance of water-based and solvent-based inks and coatings.
• Conduct on-site troubleshooting, press optimization, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate and manage press trials, new product introductions, and technical assessments at customer facilities.
• Work cross-functionally with R&D, sales, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to develop effective technical solutions.
• Develop and execute service strategies that support customer retention, product adoption, and long-term growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders while acting as the primary technical contact.
• Mentor and support field technicians or technical service personnel as needed.
• Maintain detailed technical reports, documentation, and service records to support proactive problem resolution.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including solvent handling and emissions requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related technical field preferred
• 5+ years of technical experience supporting wide web flexographic and/or gravure printing operations
• Hands-on experience working with water-based and solvent-based inks and coatings
• Proven success leading customer-facing technical support initiatives
• Strong understanding of pressroom operations, substrate interactions, drying systems, and surface treatments
• Experience troubleshooting print defects, color matching, and ink performance issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and commercial teams
• Willingness to travel up to 70% to customer locations and production facilities
