Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Live Data Associate to assist our analytics team in capturing real-time game dynamics for professional hockey. You will be responsible for providing a live low-latency "bridge" (via Zoom) between the arena and our central office, ensuring our data models reflect live play with zero lag.

Key Responsibilities

• Live Stream Management: Facilitate a high-speed audio call from live NHL/AHL venues using mobile equipment (Zoom/5G).

• Event Logging: Accurately track and report key game events (goals, penalties, power plays) the moment they occur.

• Latency Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the lowest possible delay between the live action and the data feed.

• Communication: Provide brief, clear verbal or digital cues during high-intensity game moments.

Requirements

• Elite Hockey Knowledge: You must understand the flow of the game, including penalty signals, offsides, and scoring changes, before the announcer says them.

• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with Zoom and mobile hotspots. Must own a modern smartphone with a reliable 5G data plan.

• Focus & Speed: Ability to remain focused for 3+ hours and react to live events in under 0.5 seconds.

• Reliability: Punctuality is non-negotiable. You must be in position 20 minutes before puck drop.
