Sunflower Chef Catering in Des Moines, Iowa is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Part-Time Catering Kitchen Assistant to join our growing team. This role includes a mix of food prep, assisting the Head Chef, setting up catered events, making catering deliveries, and helping keep the kitchen running smoothly.

Hours vary between 10 to 30 hours per week, with the potential for the role to grow into full-time as our business continues to expand.

What You'll Do

• Assist the Head Chef with food preparation and light cooking
• Prepare ingredients and support daily kitchen operations
• Help set up catering events and food displays
• Deliver catered meals and supplies to event locations
• Assist with serving food during catered events
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
• Support general catering operations as needed

Schedule

• 10 to 30 hours per week
• Primarily weekday hours
• Some evenings and weekends depending on catering events
• Flexible schedule preferred

What We're Looking For

• Kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
• Catering or hospitality experience is a plus
• Culinary school or culinary degree is a plus but not required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong teamwork and reliability
• Flexible availability
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred for deliveries
