Job Summary
Job Description
This is a full-time on-site position for Executive Chef, situated in Swansea, MA. The Executive Chef will oversee the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and quality. Responsibilities also include leading and mentoring kitchen staff, managing inventory, coordinating with suppliers, and developing creative dishes that align with The Aviary's culinary vision.
The Executive Chef will also oversee small private events.
Qualifications
- Culinary expertise in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, along with a deep understanding of various cuisines and cooking techniques
- Experience in kitchen management, including team leadership, scheduling, and staff training
- Proficiency in inventory management, supplier communication, and cost control
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- Creativity in menu planning and a passion for innovation in cuisine
- Prior experience in a leadership role in a professional kitchen
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
- Private Event experience, both buffet and plated
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience in the culinary arts is preferred
