Wastewater Preventative Maintenance Supervisor - Mentor The Wastewater Preventative Maintenance Supervisor position involves a broad range of managerial duties associated with the repair, inspection and preventative maintenance of buildings and process equipment at the Gary L. Kron Water Reclamation Facility in Mentor, OH. Essential Job Functions: Supervises the daily preventative maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility and preventative maintenance staff and laborers. Plans, organizes, coordinates, evaluates and otherwise supervises the work of staff. Prioritizes and schedules work assignments. Trains and guides employees on safe work practices, operational procedures and established safety protocols. Record keeping of all plant equipment maintenance schedules and. Including inspection reports and daily and monthly reconciliation reports. Troubleshoots plant equipment and machinery operating conditions. Schedules grounds maintenance, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance to keep all equipment, machinery and structures in good operating condition to reduce equipment failures and increase productivity. Orders supplies to ensure adequate stock of parts, tools, and supplies. Provides on-the-job training to new employees and in-house sessions to provide training in new maintenance schedules and procedures. Performs other related duties as required/assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. A valid Ohio Drivers license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Applicants should have maintenance and supervisory experience, including performing a variety of maintenance and operational tasks involving manual labor, ensuring preventative care, conducting general repairs, maintaining records, utilizing tools and equipment, to make and/or modify parts, completing electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding and electronical tasks, communicating with contractors, consultants and customers, ensuring compliance with departmental rules and regulations, adhering to safety standards, assisting site supervision with daily responsibilities, scheduling and overseeing daily tasks for employees, assisting in the planning, organizing and coordinating of various activities, motivating, managing, coaching and counseling. Candidates must be able to exercise independent judgment, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, display effective communication and leadership to promote employee growth and development, exhibit sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, utilize discretion, consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion, and possess strong skills in verbal and written communication, organizational abilities, time management, and analytical thinking. This position may require overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work, as well as flexible hours and rotating days.
