Position: Medical Assistant Location: 6895 E Main St, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm Compensation: $19.25-$24.81/hour Job Summary: The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting our laboratory and clinical teams. This position is responsible for collecting specimens, performing CLIAwaived testing, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining strict adherence to safety, privacy, and compliance standards. Duties & Responsibilities Perform pointofcare testing using CLIAwaived devices. Handle specimens (accessioning, labeling, aliquoting) while maintaining integrity and proper identification. Monitor lab orders in the electronic medical record (EMR) and perform testing as ordered by providers. Follow all infection prevention protocols, including proper PPE use. Use multiple computer platforms to enter client data, communicate with teams, ensure testing compliance, and support lab operations. Review provider notes and assist with order transcription or communication to the verbal order team. Complete required scheduling updates, order tracking, and documentation in client charts. Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect client privacy. Utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to receive/access samples and review reports. Enter lab results into the client chart accurately and promptly. Notify clinical/medical staff of abnormal results according to policy. Enter billing data into the client chart. Properly dispose of chemical and biological waste following regulatory requirements. Complete daily and monthly lab maintenance logs and checklists. Monitor supply inventory, maintain par levels, and place supply orders as needed. Transport samples to the main lab in a timely manner. Demonstrate professionalism and uphold the LBHS Code of Conduct. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid Ohio driver's license, auto insurance, and willingness to travel Successful completion of BCI check, Corporate Compliance checks, and preemployment drug screen Must be 25 years of age or older Desired Qualifications Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Our benefits package includes paid time off (PTO and sick time), paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life insurance, paid continuing education with supervision, parental leave, and eligibility for loan forgiveness programs.
