Job DetailsJob Location: Dover Office - Dover, DE 19901Education Level: 4 Year DegreeWallace Montgomery is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to support environmental oversight and regulatory compliance on construction projects, focusing on transportation and heavy civil infrastructure, under the tutelage of a senior environmental compliance manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in stormwater, erosion, and sediment control monitoring, NPDES compliance, and ensuring conformance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections on active construction sites for compliance with environmental permits with DelDOT specifications and NPDES Construction General Permit requirements.
Monitor implementation and maintenance of erosion and sediment control (E&SC) measures in accordance with Specifications, Standards, Permitting, and approved E&SC plans.
Prepare detailed inspection reports, document field observations, and notify project teams of non-compliance or corrective actions.
Coordinate with contractors, Deldot personnel, and environmental agencies to ensure compliance and timely resolution of environmental issues.
Track and maintain records for stormwater discharge monitoring, turbidity sampling, and rain event documentation.
Review and verify compliance with SWPPP documentation and ensure updates are current and accessible on-site.
Assist in preparing for and participating in Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews and audits.
Stay current with agency and client specific environmental compliance guidance, DEQ regulations, and relevant environmental permits.
Occasionally participate in other environmental science and permitting functions including; but not limited to, wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species surveys, development of recommendations for corrective actions, providing on-site environmental compliance training to clients and agencies.

QualificationsQualifications:
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Natural or Environmental Science.
8 years minimum professional experience.
One Professional Certification or Training is Required (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional, Certified Ecologist, Certified Wildlife Biologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, and Qualified Professional under the MD Forest Conservation Act, MBSS, Rosgen, etc.). Multiple are preferred.
