We're currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Inspector located in Baltimore, MD .
Position Overview:
The Mechanical Inspector is responsible for monitoring and inspecting mechanical construction activities associated with terminal development, airport infrastructure, and large transportation facilities. This role supports the Construction Management and Inspection team by ensuring that mechanical systems are installed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, and project quality standards.
The Mechanical Inspector will work closely with the Project Manager, Resident Engineer, contractors, and design consultants to verify proper installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building mechanical systems. This role requires experience inspecting complex mechanical systems within active commercial airport environments or large industrial facilities.

Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Inspector at a medium to large commercial airport, transportation facility, or large industrial construction project.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting mechanical systems including HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping systems, chilled water systems, boilers, pumps, and plumbing systems.
- Experience working in active airport environments or complex facilities where coordination with operations and multiple trades is required.
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings, system diagrams, and construction specifications.

Responsibilities:
- Inspect mechanical construction activities to ensure compliance with approved construction documents, technical specifications, and applicable codes.
- Monitor contractor installation of mechanical systems including HVAC equipment, ductwork systems, piping systems, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and plumbing systems.
- Verify that materials and equipment used in construction conform to approved submittals and project specifications.
- Observe installation of mechanical equipment and verify proper alignment, anchoring, and system connections.
- Inspect mechanical piping systems including chilled water, heating water, condenser water, and other building mechanical systems.
- Monitor installation of air distribution systems including ductwork, air handling units, terminal units, and ventilation systems.
- Coordinate with contractors and the construction management team to identify deficiencies, nonconforming work, or potential mechanical system issues.
- Observe testing, balancing, and commissioning activities for mechanical systems to ensure systems operate as designed.
- Verify contractor compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project requirements.
- Document inspection activities through daily reports, inspection logs, and photographic records.
- Participate in construction coordination meetings and support resolution of field issues involving mechanical systems.
- Assist in punch list inspections and final acceptance of mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of inspection activities to support project quality assurance requirements.
Salary:
43.55/hr
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management's discretion.
