Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join their AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Indianapolis. The clinic is dedicated to delivering high-quality veterinary care for companion animals, with a strong emphasis on medical excellence, client education, and collaborative team culture.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm, and is closed on Sunday. This is a full-time position within the hospital's operating hours and scheduling is flexible.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will build lasting relationships with clients and their pets while leading patient care from diagnosis through treatment. Responsibilities include conducting examinations, developing and implementing treatment plans, educating clients, and collaborating closely with the paraprofessional team. The role focuses on practicing high-quality small animal medicine in alignment with AAHA standards. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and maintain a valid state license in good standing. The hospital seeks a collaborative veterinarian dedicated to maintaining high standards of care and fostering a positive clinical environment.
Practice Details
This AAHA-accredited small animal hospital is equipped to manage complex cases and offers advanced diagnostic tools including ultrasound and diagnostic imaging such as radiography and ultrasonography. Services include annual physical exams, biannual exams, blood screening, urinalysis, fecal testing, blood pressure monitoring, echocardiogram, dental cleaning and extractions, spay and neuter surgery, cesarean section, foreign body retrieval surgery, growth removal surgery, entropion surgery, third eyelid tacking surgery, microchipping, cold laser therapy, nutrition counseling, parasite protection plans, progesterone testing, at-home hospice care, allergies and skin issue management, grooming services, and urgent care. The hospital also provides access to internal specialty consultations and collaborative learning opportunities within its broader network.
Team
The team includes two DVMs supported by a paraprofessional staff within a collaborative and mentorship-focused culture. The hospital emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and shared commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
