Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their full-time team in Chicago, Illinois. The practice provides high-level care for dogs and cats, as well as exotic pets including small mammals, reptiles, and birds, with a particular strength in advanced cardiology services. The hospital operates within a supportive national network while maintaining a strong local presence and reputation within the community.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm, and is closed on Sunday. The position is full-time, with scheduling aligned to the hospital's operating hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will build lasting client relationships while leading patient care from diagnosis through treatment. Responsibilities include performing examinations, developing treatment plans, communicating findings clearly with clients, and collaborating closely with the paraprofessional team to maintain high standards of care. The role emphasizes practicing evidence-based medicine with access to internal specialty consultations for complex case management. Candidates must hold a DVM degree and a valid state license in good standing. A collaborative mindset, commitment to medical excellence, and strong communication skills are essential.

This AAHA-accredited hospital is dedicated to evidence-based medicine and advanced diagnostics. Services include emergency care, cardiology, exotic pet wellness and preventive care, species-specific diagnostics, chronic condition management, anesthesia and monitoring, soft tissue surgery, dental procedures and extractions, foreign body removal, digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house laboratory testing, pharmacy services, microchipping, vaccinations, preventive care, nutrition, behavior, dermatology, senior wellness, and puppy and kitten care. Specialty consultations are available in cardiology, internal medicine, critical care, dermatology, and behavior. On-site diagnostic capabilities include CBC, chemistry, cytology, fecal and urinalysis testing, along with comprehensive imaging and diagnostic services. Team

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
