GENERAL PURPOSE
The Furniture Repair & Touch-Up Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and restoring stained and/or finished furniture components to meet established quality standards. This role focuses on identifying defects, performing skilled touch-up and repair work, and ensuring finished products meet or exceed company expectations.
This position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and ownership of product quality. All work must be completed with a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inspect finished furniture components to identify defects or damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
Perform touch-up and repair work on wood, laminate, and metal components, including correcting finish defects, scratches, dents, or other imperfections.
Ensure repaired materials meet or exceed established quality standards.
Use hand tools and finishing materials to complete repair work effectively and efficiently.
Communicate quality issues and recurring defects to production team members and supervisors.
Assist in identifying root causes of product defects and support continuous improvement efforts.
Provide guidance and training to team members on proper repair and touch-up techniques when needed.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Perform additional duties as needed to support production and business objectives.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or its equivalent.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to acquire, within a six-month timeframe, a competent level of the skill knowledge required around quality and production standards.
Experience using hand tools.
Must have excellent color acuity.
Ability to read, understand, communicate and interpret written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc.
Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.
Willing to adapt to a continually changing environment.
Committed to team success through reliable attendance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Ability to bend, twist, and stand for periods of up to 10-12 hours.
