This position is based at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, MA. The property is owned by Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC, the real estate division of FM, offering a dynamic hospitality environment with strong organizational support.

The Four Points by Sheraton Norwood Hotel & Conference Center features 230 modern, smoke-free guestrooms, including allergy-friendly options, along with complimentary Wi-Fi, parking, and access to the fitness center and indoor pool. With 28 meeting rooms and 40,000 square feet of event space, the hotel is well-suited for meetings and conferences of all sizes, and the Tiffany Ballroom to cater for social events. Guests can enjoy dining at One Bistro or the daily breakfast buffet at Zachariahs. Convenient Norwood location provides easy access to Boston, Providence, Gillette Stadium, Legacy Place, and nearby commuter rail and Amtrak service.

Shift Hours

Open availability is required to meet business needs, including weekday and weekend shifts.

Shifts may include:

  • Fridays: starting as early as 8:00 AM, with shifts ending as late as 4:30 PM

  • Saturdays and Sundays: starting at 9:00 AM, with shifts ending as late as 5:30 PM

  • MondayThursday: availability may be required based on operational needs

Holidays

  • This is a 24/7 operation, so holiday coverage is required

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall quality of guest rooms and assigned public areas. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring rooms are cleaned thoroughly, safely, and efficiently in accordance with hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned stayover and check-out guest rooms, meeting established quality and productivity standards

  • On high-volume days, clean up to 18 guest rooms per shift

  • Change bed linens and replace towels

  • Dust, vacuum, and sanitize all high-touch surfaces

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, tubs, sinks, mirrors, and floors

  • Complete each guest room within required timeframes while maintaining quality standards

  • Ensure all rooms are prepared for inspection; all work is subject to review by a Room Inspector

  • Accurately identify and follow room status designations, including Blocked rooms, VIP rooms, late check-outs, and Do Not Disturb (DND) rooms

Daily Operations

  • Receive daily room assignments at the start of each shift

  • Estimate and gather required linens and supplies before beginning room cleaning

  • Maintain a neatly stocked and organized housekeeping cart to ensure efficiency throughout the shift

  • Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper use

  • Maintain assigned equipment, including ensuring vacuums are in proper working condition

  • Assist in the laundry area during high-volume periods as needed

  • Keep linen closets clean, organized, and secured at all times

Guest Service Expectations

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner

  • Help when appropriate while respecting guest privacy

  • Always maintain a professional appearance and positive demeanor

Safety & Security Responsibilities

  • Follow all hotel safety and security policies

  • Never open a guest room door for a guest

  • Work safely by positioning housekeeping carts properly while servicing rooms

  • Keep room keys secured and on you at all times

  • Ensure linen and supply closets remain closed and secured

  • Follow all emergency procedures, including fire alarm protocols

  • Properly document and turn in lost and found items, including date and room number, to the Supervisor

Administrative & Training

  • Maintain access to and basic use of email and Workday

  • Complete all required training assignments on time

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Room Attendant or equivalent experience

  • Experience in a hotel or hospital environment strongly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills

  • Professional demeanor and appearance

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing as a team player

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, and move up to 25 pounds, including setting up beds, handling linens and cleaning supplies, and safely maneuvering a housekeeping materials cart

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required .

The hiring range for this position is $16.08-$20.10 per hour.

The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for Marriott employee discounts at participating hotels with successful completion of ongoing training .
