HTI is recruiting an experienced Senior Accountant for a large manufacturing company located just south of Little Rock, AR. This is a direct hire, full-time, salaried position. This role will be onsite full-time for the first few months, and then will become mostly remote with ~1 day per month onsite. Relocation assistance is available if needed. Total annual compensation will be approximately $100,000 - $140,000 / year (this includes base salary and monthly company-wide bonus).

**Please note, candidates must have experience in the manufacturing industry to be considered.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of recent experience as a Staff Accountant, Cost Accountant, or Senior Accountant in the manufacturing industry
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience with the accounting job duties listed below
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, and at least 2+ years of experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics is a plus)
  • Experience with financial analysis and/or cost accounting is strongly preferred
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and driven with the desire to grow and move up within the organization


Job Duties include:

Financial Reporting and General Ledger:
• Execute and support general accounting functions, including general ledger activity, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Own the quality, accuracy, and completeness of assigned components of the monthly close cycle, ensuring transactions are properly recorded, reviewed, and reconciled proactively.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Execute and own assigned components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Perform account reconciliations for assigned accounts, identifying discrepancies, and making necessary adjustments.
• Own reconciliation integrity for assigned balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliations are accurate, fully supported, and completed timely each period.
• Prepare and support the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar), ensuring proper classification, posting, and reconciliation of transactions.

Inventory Management:
• Ensure integrity of inventory accounting through accurate recording, reconciliation, and variance analysis of raw materials and finished goods.
• Reconcile variances from monthly and year-end physical inventory counts and prepare inventory valuation reports.
• Work with operations to implement inventory controls and reduce discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing cost data, trend analysis, and financial insights.
• Support the Finance team in preparing financial projections for capital expenditures, labor, materials, and overhead costs as needed.

Compliance and Audits:
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and related supporting documentation.

Process Improvement:
• Analyze current accounting processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions to increase efficiency.
• Support implementations and integrations of new systems and software as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data accuracy and streamline reporting.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:
• Provide management with insights into financial performance, including key metrics, variances, and trend analysis.
• Develop ad hoc analysis and reports to support decision-making for production and cost control.

Leadership:
• Demonstrate an ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes.
• Mentor junior team members as applicable.
