Opportunity summary: As Loader in our busy shipping bay, you will be responsible for operating industrial forklift to track load and/or unload trucks for delivering the units to customers according to their requirements.You will also keep accurate tally of what is shipped to customers. We are a high-volume manufacturing plant and you will be part of a team that loads up to 25 trailers a day .
You will also be responsibleforallactivitiesassociatedwithsafelyoperatingtheforklift inadditiontoparticipatingin cross training efforts and sharing duties with other drivers.
Pay: $21.76/hr-$25.11/hr depending on experience
Shift: 1st and 2nd shift openings available
This position is non-Union. OT is paid at time and for over 40 hours worked. We work Monday through Friday with mandatory OT as scheduled. Our plant is not climate controlled .
HowyouwillimpactSmurfitWestrock:
- Inspect forklift daily at the start of the shift ensuring all safety features are operational. Complete checklist documenting inspection.
- Safely track and move materials throughout the facility safely and efficiently
- Responsiblefortheoverallsafetyandcleanlinessoftheequipmentandworkarea.
- Assureallmaterialsshippedandwarehousearehandledinamannerthatpreventsdamage
- Loadandunloadtrucks according to department standards and customer demands.
- UseanRFscannerforreceiptsofreturnsordeliveries.
- Verifyallcounts,quantities,qualityand descriptionsofproductsandmaterialsreceived, shipped or warehouse are what is expected.
- Serviceproductionlines,deliveringproductsasrequested.
- Properlypalletizeorstretch wrapaunit.
- Timelyandaccuratecompletionofpaperworkassociatedwiththemovementofproduct & materials .
- Responsibleforgeneralcleanlinessofthewarehouseandloadingdocks.
- Performregularinventoryandcyclecounts.
- Safelychangeforkliftpropanetanksand/orbatteriesasneeded.
- Assistotherdepartmentsasneeded.Performotherdutiesasassigned.
Whatyouneedto succeed:
- HighSchooldiplomaorG.E.D.
- Must haveavalid driverslicense.
- Previous forklift experience in a high volume high speed environment preferred
- Forkliftdrivercertification validduringthelast12months ispreferred, but we will teach you.
- Knowledgeofmachineryandhowtoidentifyissuesandtroubleshootequipmentpreferred.
- Abilitytolearnproprietarysoftwareprogramsfor theCorrugated Manufacturingsystems.
- Must have ability to the basic ability to read and write in English. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, comprehend simple instructions, follow maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Musthave ability toperformbasicarithmeticdealingwithdecimals,fractions,rations,etc.
- Abilitytoreadatapemeasure.
- Abilitytocommunicateeffectivelytoallemployeesandtocustomers,both verballyandin writing
- Mustbeabletomaintaingood attendance.
- Mustbeavailabletoworkovertimeandweekends or other shifts.
- Mustpassbackgroundchecksanddrugtesting that includes THC.
- Physicaldemandwillincludetheabilitytositforcontinuoushours,stand,walk,bend, kneel, navigate stairs though the entire shift and drive in reverse.

The salary range for this position is $21.76-$25.11 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
