Tool and Die Technician

HTI is seeking a technical Tool and Die Technician for an automotive stamping manufacturer in Laurinburg, NC! This position is a DIRECT HIRE position on 1 st shift (M-F 7:30AM-4:00PM)! Pay starting at $30/hr!

What You Need:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Experience press department, machine operator, or related field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Knowledge of progressive die stamping
• CAD exp is a plus
• CNC exp is a plus

What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Tool & Die Technician will play a crucial role in troubleshooting and repairing tools/dies that support stamping operations. Must assist with tool changeovers and set-ups that will maximize performance run times and deliver quality parts to our chain assembly department. Additionally, they play a key role in driving productivity, maintaining quality standards, while promoting a positive team culture.

• Repairs and modifies tooling to support production.
• Builds fixtures for new production jobs.
• Performs preventative maintenance work on progressive dies.
• Provides problem-solving input from a tooling standpoint.
• Completes all company required documentation and procedures for preventive maintenance and tooling activities.
• Has the authority to stop production from running should he/she feel there is bad product being produced or there is a safety issue with die or its components.
• Follow all company safety policies (eg, Lockout tagout etc).
• Shall inform tooling lead of any perishable tools / blocks that may be required from working on dies both repair and preventive maintenance.
• Must adhere to Safety Standards and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment Other duties as assigned.
