Job Summary:
Seeking a Plant Superintendent to oversee operations within a black powder manufacturing environment and an upcoming chemical production facility. This position serves as a key operational leadership role responsible for coordinating daily production activities, ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing processes, and supporting execution of the production schedule. The Plant Superintendent provides guidance to Production Supervisors and collaborates closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and EHS teams to ensure production targets, safety protocols, and quality standards are consistently achieved.

As a Plant Superintendent, You Will:

• Lead day-to-day production operations across multiple shifts, providing direction and support to Production Supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing performance.
• Coordinate production schedules, staffing levels, and operational resources to maintain reliable output while aligning priorities and long-term planning with site leadership.
• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements while supporting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Monitor plant performance and operational KPIs, driving improvements in throughput, efficiency, and product quality while minimizing downtime through effective work order prioritization and preventive maintenance coordination.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, kaizen activities, waste reduction, and process optimization, to strengthen operational performance and manufacturing reliability.
• Develop and mentor Production Supervisors, supporting performance evaluations, identifying training needs, and ensuring cross-training programs are implemented to build workforce flexibility and capability.
• Serve as the key operational link between production leadership and site management, facilitating daily production meetings, communicating priorities and risks, and collaborating with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and EHS teams to resolve operational challenges and maintain production flow.
• Oversee root cause investigations and corrective action implementation within production areas, while escalating critical operational risks, staffing constraints, or equipment issues to senior leadership when necessary

Skills/Requirements:

• Experience optimizing and refining manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency within industrial operations.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing teams and production activities.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses, including meeting regulatory requirements such as being at least 21 years of age, successfully passing a pre-employment drug screening, and completing required State and Federal background checks.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred, providing a strong technical foundation for overseeing complex manufacturing operations.
