Survey Project Manager

Job Description

The Survey Project Manager is responsible for leading land surveying projects from initiation through completion, with a primary focus on transportation and public service sectors. This role ensures that all project deliverables meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, company quality standards, and financial goals. As the main point of contact to clients, the Survey Project Manager oversees both field and office teams, drives business development efforts, and supports staff growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead transportation and public-sector land survey projects from planning through delivery.
  • Oversee regulatory requirements, prepare proposals, budgets, and sign plats.
  • Prepare and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, contracts, and billing.
  • Supervise and allocate resources across field and office teams, managing 2-3 CAD technicians directly.
  • Sign and seal plats, field notes, and right-of-way drawings as needed.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact.
  • Support business development and lead public-sector proposal efforts.
  • Mentor staff and uphold technical and quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Professional Surveyor (PS) license.
  • Experience in leading and managing land surveying projects, preferably in transportation.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly define assignments and deliverables to team members.
  • Capability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a project team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve promptly.
  • Capacity to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with right of way, ALTA surveys, boundary survey, easement, and construction staking.
  • Project management expertise.

Work Environment

Mainly working in-office. Some local travel may be required for site visits, client visits, etc. The work environment offers a competitive compensation package, a signing bonus, and a great 401k. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
