Grounds Maintenance Worker - Seasonal

• Mowing of parkland
• Using power equipment, trimming with weed eaters, and ability to drive trucks with trailers
• Litter control
• Work various community events
• Water/Maintain hanging baskets
• Taking care of ball fields
• Dragging and lining fields for game preparations
• Remove standing water if necessary
• Painting fair lines on the grass
• Working in flower beds
• Edging, planting, weeding, and watering plants
• Tilling, mulching
• Tree work
• Policing park grounds for litter
• Empty waste receptacles
• Inspect park facilities daily
• Perform basic janitorial services
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Landscape experience preferred
• Prior experience driving a truck and trailer preferred
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Must be 18 years of age or will turn 18 in early June of current year
• Some experience in general maintenance and construction work helpful
• Ability to obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification
• Must possess a valid Ohio Drivers License and a good driving record

Ability to:

• Drive trucks with trailers
• Operate various power tools (weed trimmers, mowers, tractors, trucks)
• Obtain and maintain basic first aid and CPR certification
• Ability to lift 20-30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time

Working Conditions:

• Weekend work required
• Work is performed inside/outside in all types of weather conditions (hot, humid, precipitation, etc)
