The Role: More Than Just “Helping the Vet”

As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you’re not just assisting — you’re a licensed medical professional and a key player in patient care. You’ll use your full skillset every day.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Patient Care & Medical Skills
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments (TPR, history intake, monitoring)
  • Safely induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia
  • Place IV catheters and administer medications
  • Collect and run in-house lab samples (bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis, fecals)
  • Take and position diagnostic radiographs
  • Assist in surgery and dentistry
  • Perform dental cleanings and take dental radiographs
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and update treatment sheets
  • Provide compassionate nursing care to sick and surgical patients
Client Education & Communication
  • Break down medical info in a way that actually makes sense to pet parents
  • Review treatment plans and discharge instructions
  • Educate clients on preventative care, medications, and follow-ups
  • Build trust with families and advocate for your patients
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with veterinarians to implement treatment plans
  • Support fellow team members to keep the day running smoothly
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Help create a positive, drama-free, team-focused culture
What You Bring
  • Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technician program (Associate Degree)
  • Passed the VTNE and licensed to practice in Florida
  • Strong technical skills and confidence using them
  • Excellent communication skills (with humans and pets alike)
  • Positive attitude + team mentality
  • Ability to stay organized in a busy environment
  • Genuine passion for patient care
