Yard Outdoor Welder Apprentices - Fabrication Shop (Acheson, AB)

Primoris Canada is a leading infrastructure contractor supporting major clients in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries. Our services include tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, piping and modular fabrication, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction, and pipeline integrity services.

Primoris Canada is seeking Apprentice welders to support a multiple long term projects at our fabrication yard in Acheson, AB. The project offers up to two years of work, providing longterm stability for qualified tradespeople . This position involves outdoor welding in an active fabrication yard environment, supporting large-diameter pipe spools from 24” to 42”and fabricated assemblies.

Anticipated Start Date: March-April

Location: Acheson, AB

Shift: Dayshift 4x10s (Mon-Thurs. 6am to 4:30pm) with potential for overtime

Inclusive Rate: $40.97-$50.88/hr (Inclusive of employer contributions for vacation/statutory, health and welfare, RSP, RSP matching, education, training and $3.00/hr outdoor premium)

Hourly Rate: $29.52-$37.96

• Perform weld tacking for fitters
• Comply with Company OH&S safety requirements
• Read and interpret weld procedures (WPS) and isometric drawings
• Weld using SMAW (6010/7018) and STT/FCAW process
• Inspect and verify weld quality to code and Enbridge specifications
• Work safely around cranes, rigging, and mobile equipment
• Participate in toolbox meetings
• Maintain housekeeping in work areas
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Alberta registered apprentice (or equivalent)
• Experience with tack welding groove and fillet welds
• Valid CSTS-20
• WHMIS
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Team-oriented and self-motivated
