Yard Welder B Pressure (Sub Arc) - Fabrication Shop (Acheson, AB)

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

Primoris Canada is seeking Subarc welders to support a multiple long-term projects at our fabrication yard in Acheson, AB. The project offers up to two years of work, providing longterm stability for qualified tradespeople . This position involves outdoor pipe fabrication yard environment, supporting large-diameter pipe spools from 24” to 42”and fabricated assemblies.

Anticipated Start Date: March-April

Location: Acheson, AB

Shift: Dayshift 4x10s (Mon-Thurs. 6am to 4:30pm) with potential for overtime

Inclusive Rate: $59.56(for Journeyperson) -Inclusive of employer contributions for vacation/statutory, health and welfare, RSP, RSP matching, education, training and $3.00/hr outdoor premium)

Hourly Rate: $45.30

• Perform submerged arc welding in accordance with approved WPS and specifications
• Set up, operate, and monitor Subarc welding equipment
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld maps, and procedures
• Inspect, clean, grind, and repair welds as required
• Coordinate with supervision to meet production targets
• Maintain housekeeping standards in the fabrication yard
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments
• Comply with Primoris safety and OH&S requirements
• Complete required welding and traceability documentation

• Demonstrated experience operating Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) equipment
• B-pressure welding with large diameter pipe using STT/FLUXCORE process is an asset
• Ability to read and follow WPS and fabrication documentation
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity
• CSTS-2020, CSO, or equivalent safety certification
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work night shift in an outdoor yard environment
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is a condition of employment
