CNC Programmer

Direct Hire | 1st Shift

A growing global industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer who brings a high level of technical machining knowledge. The ideal candidate must have experience with CNC programming and machine operation, along with excellent problem-solving skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a relevant field preferred

• 2+ years of experience in CNC programming and operation with very strong knowledge and skills; familiarity with Okuma CNC machines preferred

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality control

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet project deadlines

• Knowledge of basic math and geometry

• Ability to understand work orders and drawings and follow detailed instructions

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use simple hand tools

• Proficiency with micrometers and other common measuring instruments

• Create and optimize CNC lathe programs using G-code programming (e.g., CIMCO Edit)

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality parts in single-piece and series production

• Select tools and fixtures to meet the requirements of new production lines

• Apply proven knowledge and skills in operating and programming Okuma CNC machines

• Monitor manufacturing processes and react as necessary to maintain proper operation

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance

• Provide input and ideas for process improvement and optimization (e.g., 6S, SMED)

• Maintain accurate records of production data, including part counts and cycle times

• Identify and troubleshoot problems that arise during the manufacturing process to ensure high-quality production

• Create machining processes for lathes with live tooling

• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
