Senior Manager, Warehouse Operational Excellence Westerville, OH
Vertiv is seeking a strategic, results-driven Individual Contributor to serve as Senior Manager, Warehouse Operational Excellence , leading transformation across multi-site warehouse and distribution operations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a leader with 710 years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or supply chain experience, including 5+ years driving operational excellence, process standardization, and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
You will design and deploy best-in-class processes, tools, and metrics across multiple sites, delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, safety, and cost. Key Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence Strategy & Deployment: Design and implement a global operational excellence strategy; standardize tools, KPIs, and practices across sites while tailoring for local operations.
- Process Mapping & Standardization: Lead end-to-end process mapping (inbound, storage, inventory, picking, packing, shipping); identify inefficiencies and harmonize workflows across multiple sites.
- Best Practices Playbook: Develop and maintain a comprehensive Operational Excellence Playbook (SOPs, KPIs, audit tools, CI frameworks); lead training and rollout across sites.
- Continuous Improvement & Data-Driven Projects: Coach site teams and lead cross-functional projects using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and data-driven analysis to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and cost.
- Training, Coaching & Change Management: Mentor site leaders, deliver workshops, and guide teams through change to ensure sustainable improvements.
- Multi-Site Collaboration & Support: Serve as the operational excellence liaison across sites; conduct audits, share insights, and establish feedback loops to evolve the framework.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations.
- Multi-Site Operations: 5+ years leading or supporting operations across multiple warehouse or distribution sites.
- Process & Playbook Expertise: 5+ years implementing process mapping, SOP/playbook development, and operational strategy deployment with measurable results in efficiency, cost, or service.
- Systems & Technology: 3+ years working with WMS, ERP, or warehouse automation systems to standardize processes, improve data accuracy, and drive operational improvements.
- Data & Project Management: 3+ years leading cross-functional projects, leveraging data-driven analysis and KPIs to deliver measurable results.
- Leadership & Influence: 3+ years leading, mentoring, and influencing cross-functional teams to adopt operational excellence practices successfully.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean or Six Sigma certifications (Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred).
- Experience coaching teams on Lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to implement operational playbooks and standard practices across multiple sites.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration, influence without authority, and drive adoption of new processes.
- Exposure to warehouse automation and advanced operational technologies.
Travel Required
- Up to 50% travel to warehouse and distribution sites.
