Description

Citizens Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) organization is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to help drive and lead the building, maintaining, and refining of machine-learning capabilities that will unlock sustainable value creation through intelligent product and relationship pricing.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the lead modeler for deposits & relationship pricing, building critical relationships with partners in product, pricing & profitability, finance, data, and technology to collaboratively bring transformational ML capabilities to market
  • Provide thought leadership for pricing modeling and experimentation

  • Design, develop, deploy, and integrate models into pricing and relationship decision engines

  • Synthesize analytic findings into recommended actions to improve business outcomes

  • Communicate analytical insights as a clear and approachable story, reducing complexity as appropriate for different audiences

  • Maintain a mindset aligned to Citizens commitment to an Agile operating model and to managing ML models as a product
  • Masters or PhD degree in statistics, economics, analytics, data science, or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in preparing raw data for analysis and extracting useful information by applying advanced technical and statistical programming techniques
  • Solid command of the theory and application of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms, including causal inference techniques
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Applied experience with the full model development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and governance
  • Familiarity with designing experiments, including randomized controlled trials

  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning techniques and sequential decision making
  • A strong sense of intellectual curiosity and ability to thrive and deliver value in an entrepreneurial working environment
  • Ability to work in a high-performance professional environment, with quick turn-around and evolving priorities
  • Commitment to intellectual rigor and observance of compliance and data privacy controls
  • A disciplined approach to making decisions and setting expectations
  • Experience working with large datasets (greater than 1 million records) and applying techniques to efficiently manage big data
  • Experience working with technical collaboration and project management tools such as Git and Jira (preferred)
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Experience working with financial datasets (preferred)

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hybrid: 4 days per week on-site, 1 day remote
