Work Youll Do
M&A I&D S&G advises, implements, and delivers transformative solutions to clients to optimize their cross functional activities due to a pending/completed transaction, restructuring and strategic cost transformation event. As part of the S&G team, Senior Managers lead large, complex engagements that identify, design, and administer creative business and technology solutions for companies. Senior Managers are expected to contribute to the firms growth and development in a variety of ways:
- Execute on multiple M&A I&D projects concurrently, working with Manager-level personnel to ensure excellence in project work
- Partner with senior executives to define how they employ M&A in alignment with their corporate strategy to drive profitable growth and enable them to compete effectively in their industry
- Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analysis and developing recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement
- Perform the role of counselor and coach, provide input and guidance into the staffing process, actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities, provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices
- Mentor and develop staff through informal coaching and day-to-day project interactions. This includes working with global teams as applicable and may require work to be balanced across varying/multiple time zones.
- Improve internal processes, and promote knowledge sharing in the team, by contributing to the community of practice, blogs, and other forms of market eminence. Develop "point- of-view" documents, participate in public speaking events, get published in industry periodicals.

Our M&A team offers expert guidance to corporate and private equity clients in navigating complex growth and divestiture scenarios. Our services encompass M&A strategy and transaction diligence, integration and separation planning and execution, as well as transaction financing.
The M&A I&D area is part of Deloittes M&A Offering, within the broader Strategy & Transactions practice. Our practitioners guide deal execution by aligning integration or divestiture strategies, Day 1 plans, and future-state goals to maximize value in complex market conditions. Two services provided are integration strategy and divestiture strategy. We have skilled S&G team members in either of these services who focus on the time period between the announcement of a merger, acquisition or divestiture and the conclusion of post-close implementation activities. The S&G team incorporates best-in-class program management. They focus on cross-functional activities of program management that are key to seamless transitions, superior outcomes, and deliver value in our clients integration or divestiture. Deloittes M&A S&G professionals help clients ranging in size from global to middle-market banking & capital market firms to identify potential opportunities and targets for growth that align with their corporate strategies.
The Banking and Capital Markets sector serves universal and regional banks, capital markets and securities firms, and payment networks with U.S. operations. The team focuses on delivering customer insights, growth and digital strategies, operational transformation, human capital, and technology modernization services to bank executives. We help clients address regulatory reform, technological modernization, competitive dynamics, and market growth opportunities.
Qualifications :
Required:
- A candidate must have 8+ years of M&A or M&A service delivery experience in the following areas:
- day 1 certification; development of workplans and milestones; identification of functional interdependencies; facilitating cutover planning; testing and execution; or end-state blueprinting
- Setting, leading, and delivering engagement objectives and scope
- Developing work plans for components of engagements, coordinating activities between work streams, and identifying changes in scope
- Designing deliverable content to precisely reflect the engagement contract and client needs
- Managing cross-functional teams to deliver M&A engagements across all of phases of the M&A lifecycle including due-diligence, pre-close, and post-merger integration
- Providing corporate and private equity buyers with a broad continuum of advisory integration and divestiture program management services to support mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives, and post-transaction activities
- providing industry insight and analytical support using data mining, pattern matching, data visualization, and predictive modelling tools to produce analysis and algorithms that enables pre-deal and post-deal integration, divestiture, and major restructuring/cost transformation activities to achieve/exceed deal value, synergy targets, or strategic cost takeout objectives
- Business Development by developing and maintaining contact with top decision makers at key clients, as well as leading and delivering aspects of the proposal development process, contributing to the development of proposal pricing strategies
- Integration, divestiture, and/or joint venture standup execution
- 8+ years of experience working in consulting/service delivery for banking and capital markets clients or within a banking and capital market corporation
- Bachelors degree and 8+ years consulting and/or industry experience; alternatively, an MBA with 6+ years relevant work experience

- Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
