As a Registered Nurse in the Psychiatric Unit, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating nursing care activities for clients aged 18 and older. Your expertise in assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation will ensure the highest standards of care. You will be responsible for directing other personnel involved in client care and maintaining professional accountability for all nursing services provided.

• Plan, organize, and direct nursing functions for clients on the unit
• Make nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees
• Identify problems and develop solutions using critical thinking skills
• Implement physician orders accurately and promptly
• Administer and record medications in accordance with policy
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel
• Evaluate performance of personnel with recommendations for action
• Comply with infection control policies and procedures
• Coordinate and provide emergency care as needed
• Conduct group therapies and participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Maintain a safe environment and monitor for harmful contraband
• Develop and evaluate personal goals for professional growth
• Establish collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare team members
