Shipping and Receiving Associate

Shipping & Receiving Operator
Pay: $18–$22 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Occasional Fridays (8-hour shift)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Shipping & Receiving Operator to support material handling, packaging, and outbound shipping operations in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role involves moving large, heavy components, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring accurate shipping documentation and compliance with safety standards.

This is a hands-on position requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong safety mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane to safely move materials and finished products
• Operate forklift (must obtain and maintain forklift certification)
• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and condition
• Prepare outbound shipments using proper documentation, including:
• Bills of Lading (BOL)
• Freight bills
• Packing lists
• Commercial invoices
• Package and secure industrial components, including oversized and heavy parts
• Build and reinforce custom shipping crates for safe transport
• Use power tools (saws, drills, impact drivers) to cut, fit, and assemble crates
• Maintain accurate shipping records and inventory documentation
• Follow company safety policies and maintain an organized shipping/receiving area

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of shipping and receiving experience
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials
• Experience operating forklift and overhead crane preferred
• Comfortable reading and processing shipping paperwork and freight documentation
• Proficient with hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
