Brown & Brown is seeking a Collections Specialist to join our growing team in New Hyde Park, NY.

Reports directly to AR Team Lead, the position is responsible for all policy services related to audits, cancellations, premium finance and collections for the NE Region.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Work with agents and underwriters/brokers to collect cash on accounts.

  • Handle collections of all audits.

  • Assists the Cancellation team with prioritizing binding authority cancellations. Ensures the cancellations are issued on time.

  • Work with Cancellation team lead to issue brokerage cancellations and reinstatements as needed.

  • Monitors and terminates relationship with agents who are on-going collection issues.

  • Assist A/R team on researching issues. Works with Operations Support team to make sure errors are corrected.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a business or financial related discipline (preferred)

  • Has supervised teammates/processes in a previous position (preferred)

  • Has Insurance accounting or collections experience (preferred)

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite

  • Exceptional telephone demeanor

  • Ability to direct other employees.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • 2 to 4 years' experience in a similar position

Pay Range

$25.24 - $25.24 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
