The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a critical role in delivering the signature hospitality at Five Iron Golf – Coral Gables, a franchised location operated by Sunshine Coral Gables, LLC.
This franchised location of Five Iron Golf is redefining the indoor golf and entertainment experience by blending cutting-edge simulator technology with a high-energy, inclusive social atmosphere. With premium food and beverage offerings and community-driven programming, we provide unforgettable experiences for golfers and non-golfers alike.
The Assistant General Manager works hand-in-hand with the General Manager to lead daily operations and guest experience for the location. The AGM supports all aspects of the business including simulator rentals, bowling rentals, events, food and beverage, leagues, bar operations, staffing, and hospitality. The AGM leads by example, ensures staff accountability, and delivers on the brand promise of fun, memorable, and elevated guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue across simulator rentals, bowling rentals, food and beverage sales, events and league participation.
- Recruit, hire, and train hourly and bar staff; support onboarding and ongoing development.
- Evaluate staff performance and ensure consistent coverage and service standards.
- Oversee bar inventory, ordering, prep, and compliance with LBW (liquor, beer, wine) procedures.
- Execute promotions and ensure bar staff are trained and certified on all new rollouts.
- Monitor performance reports including comps, voids, ticket times, and Customer Voice feedback.
- Conduct monthly bar meetings, bartender audits, and recipe validations.
- Maintain par levels, bar mise en place, garnish management, and glassware standards.
- Oversee alcohol safety, to-go, and ID verification procedures.
- Assist with facility cleanliness, compliance with safety and licensing standards.
- Actively support cost control efforts by managing LBW budgets and reporting variances.
- Participate in marketing, community engagement, and local guest loyalty initiatives.
Expectations & Deliverables
- Maintain up-to-date LBW pricing, audit logs, and credit tracking.
- Enter daily waste and verify spoilage/waste reports in NBO.
- Conduct a minimum of two bartender task or observation audits monthly.
- Ensure bartender training folders are complete and recipes are current.
- Track and review comp/void logs and address with bar team weekly.
- Support weekly bar drawer pulls, par sheet maintenance, and spoilage procedures.
- Host monthly bartender meetings and wine tastings/classes.
- Assist with P&L review and provide recommendations for improving margins.
- Collaborate with GM to uphold and improve service standards and operational efficiency.
Performance Systems & Compliance Requirements
The AGM is responsible for the implementation, review, and compliance of the following systems:
- LBW Inventory, Weekly Orders vs Delivery Logs, NBO Entry, Credit Due Reports
- Comp and Void Audits, Bar Communication Logs, Shopper Report Follow-Up
- Open/Close Cleaning Checklists, Draft Line Cleaning Logs, Bar Supply Tracking
- Pour Test Results, Promo Drink Rollouts and Bartender Testing Records
- Cost Management Reports, P-Mix Review, Drink Recipe Maintenance
- Bartender Evaluations, Uniform and Cash Handling Compliance, ID Verification Protocols
- Marketing Material Coordination and Suggestive Sell Roleplaying
- Ticket Time Audits, Customer Voice Review and Training Feedback
- Maintenance of Glassware, Fruit Caddy, Garnishes, Wine Procedures, and Vintage Audits
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hospitality experience, with at least 1 year as Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to coach staff effectively.
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Energetic, team-oriented, and guest-focused.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must meet state/local licensing and alcohol safety certification requirements.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed.
