Job Description
About the Position:
With 40 years of experience, Johnson Lambert is one of the nation's largest insurance-focused firms that provides audit, tax and consulting services. We pride ourselves on the excellent reputation we have achieved while serving our clients in the insurance, nonprofit, and employee benefit plan industries.
We are seeking a driven, creative, and passionate Business Automation Manager to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to help build and scale our external automation consulting practice. The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant who has a natural aptitude for learning new technologies and a desire to apply those skills to solve complex accounting challenges for our clients. At Johnson Lambert, you will have access to a suite of established AI-based tools and automation platforms to help you deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.
As part of the Johnson Lambert team, you'll work in an environment where your entrepreneurial spirit will thrive as you build your skills, enhance your leadership opportunities, and collaborate with a highly motivated workforce. All roles offered at Johnson Lambert are offered in a hybrid format, should you be in close proximity to one of our 8 office locations, or have the flexibility to work from home in a remote setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Custom Solution Design: Independently apply deep insurance accounting knowledge to translate complex client processes into logic-based data workflows and automated solutions.
- Consulting Partnership: Partner directly with the Senior Manager as a technical "right hand" to participate in client meetings, presentations, and discovery sessions.
- Technical Execution: Leverage a proven technical aptitude to master advanced data manipulation tools and utilize existing AI-based technologies to transform manual processes into streamlined workflows.
- Practice Development: Support the growth of the emerging consulting practice through the development of "proof-of-concept" models and impactful data visualizations.
- Quality & Maintenance: Maintain and iterate on automation solutions to ensure they meet evolving business needs and quality standards.
- Firm Support: Provide support for internal automation initiatives and data operations for Johnson Lambert engagement teams as needed.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification is highly preferred.
- 6-9 years of total professional accounting experience, with a portion of that time spent within the Insurance industry.
- Experience in Reinsurance Accounting is highly preferred, but not required.
- Prior experience in Public Accounting is a plus.
- Proven aptitude for learning and implementing new technology solutions (experience with data transformation, AI tools, or automation platforms is a plus).
In the execution of these responsibilities, the Business Automation Manager will report directly to the Business Automation Senior Manager. Together, you will build the foundation of our automation consulting practice while ensuring our internal Johnson Lambert teams continue to benefit from innovative data solutions.
Equity note: Research suggests that women and Black, Indigenous, and other persons of color are less likely than men or White job seekers to apply for positions unless they are confident they meet 100% of the qualifications. We strongly encourage interested individuals to apply, and allow us to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and abilities you demonstrate, using an internal equity lens..
Johnson Lambert prides itself for the hands-on approach and relationships we build with future employees, employees, and clients. We believe each application is the potential for a future relationship with JL. Therefore, a member of our HR team personally reviews all applications submitted.
