Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant or Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and accounting software (ProSeries, Sage 50). This role offers an opportunity to work across various accounting disciplines, including corporate, governmental, and non-profit sectors, contributing to accurate financial management and reporting within a dynamic organization. Must have experience with Corporate Returns, 1120, 1120S, F1120, 1040, 1040NR, Quarterly Tax, 941, 940, W2, RT-6, Non-Resident Tax & 1065 forms.

  • MUST be a fluent Spanish speaker, bilingual preference (we cater to mainly the Hispanic market - 85%+).
  • MUST have had Corporate Return experience (preferably filing Tax returns to IRS for multiple Companies).

Duties:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
  • Perform general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to monitor financial health.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Handle journal entries, accrual accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping with precision.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with SOX, LIHTC, securities law, and other relevant regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient financial management.
  • Contribute to internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
  • Mentor junior staff or interns in accounting principles and software use; promote best practices in financial management.
  • Interpret complex financial reports for management review and decision-making purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Enrolled Agent, CPA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in Corporate Accounting, public accounting, or governmental accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as ProSeries, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Experience with tax preparation or tax experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles (including LIHTC), securities law, wills & estate law is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and conduct cash flow analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing financial reports and collaborating across teams.
