Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant is responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting all costs related to production and inventory. This role supports the accounting team by preparing journal entries, maintaining accurate cost records, and ensuring financial data is complete and reliable. The ideal candidate is detail?oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast?paced manufacturing environment.

• Maintain and analyze inventory for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Perform job costing and support cost variance analysis.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Review and maintain project reporting and weekly labor reports.
• Assist with month?end close and financial statement preparation.
• Support audits and special projects as needed.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
• Identify cost trends and provide recommendations to management.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience; manufacturing or cost accounting preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Monthly financial statement preparation and account analysis experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation.

Salary Range:

$70K-$75K
