Job Description


Delta 360 is dedicated to recruiting an experienced professional to join our team as a Sr. Accountant. This position will be primarily responsible for inventory accounting, costing support, and inventory-related controls, with additional responsibility for fixed asset accounting. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to partner effectively with Operations to ensure accurate inventory valuation, clean month-end close support, and actionable cost insights.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain accurate inventory accounting in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP, including valuation, reserves, and period cutoffs

Perform monthly inventory close activities, including inventory rollforwards and reconciliations to the general ledger

Review inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments) for completeness and accuracy; research and resolve discrepancies

Support and/or lead cycle counts and physical inventory processes, including planning, reconciliation, and documentation of results

Analyze inventory and cost variances and work with Operations and Purchasing to identify drivers and corrective actions

Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory and assist with reserve calculations and supporting documentation

Prepare inventory reporting and supporting schedules for internal reporting, external auditors, and lenders as needed

Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, retirements, and supporting documentation

Ensure appropriate capitalization in accordance with company policy; coordinate placed-in-service updates and documentation

Calculate and record monthly depreciation; reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger

Support construction-in-progress (CIP) tracking and ensure timely project closeout and classification

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

3+ years of accounting experience with significant exposure to inventory accounting and/or cost accounting

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.); strong Excel skills preferred (pivot tables, lookups, working with large datasets)

Experience working in an ERP system; ability to learn and navigate new systems quickly

Comfortable with deadlines and achieving targets or goals, especially during month-end close

Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and strong documentation discipline

Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to explain variances clearly and drive resolution

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

Previous experience in an inventory-intensive environment (manufacturing, distribution, petroleum, construction materials, etc.) a plus

CPA/CMA or progress toward certification a plus
