RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise customer service and order entry staff, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and compliance
  • Manage daily pharmacy billing operations, including claims adjudication, exception handling, and refill-too-soon rejections
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily batch billing and first-dose prescription billing
  • Oversee resolution of billing errors, rejected claims, and prior authorizations
  • Coordinate with centralized billing teams to support smooth daily operations
  • Manage business office functions including accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, vendor relations, purchasing, and office administration
  • Review reports and ensure accuracy of billing and operational data
  • Respond to billing inquiries and customer concerns at the local branch level as needed
  • Monitor trends in billing rejections and errors to identify process improvement opportunities
  • Promote clear communication across pharmacy operations, customer service, and external partners

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
  • Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Long-Term Care pharmacy experience
  • 2+ years of pharmacy billing or business office management experience preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of pharmacy claims, insurance programs, and exception handling
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure
