You work as part of a cross-functional team to lead and deliver the activities required to complete Process Design and Process Deployment for Innovation, Growth and Productivity projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.

How you will contribute

With the support of a manager and technical coaches, you will design and implement projects in line with R&D, marketing, and manufacturing requirements, and effectively communicate project status and potential risks. In this role, you will also focus on expanding existing process capabilities and unlocking innovation, actively co-creating and collaborating with global internal and external partners, including Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), External Manufacturers (EMs), and suppliers. As part of that planning process, you will conduct activities to generate the appropriate process information, using modeling, simulations, and pilot plant and full-scale plant trials in accordance with good manufacturing practices and HACCP requirements. You will also plan and conduct process development activities including process design and specifications, process scale-up and commissioning, technical risk assessments, and create and maintain accurate consumer-centric process specifications. In this role, you will assist in planning the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies, and manage stakeholders, making recommendations and influencing decisions based on analysis and interpretation of data. You will also create intellectual property to drive competitive advantage.

What you need to know about this position:

The candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing trials for pilot plant and full-scale plant. They must also develop and manage project plans and timelines, ensuring that projects are delivered on time. The candidate should possess strong technical and project management skills, and effective communication skills. This position will have the opportunity to build strong relationships across R&D, with suppliers, co-manufacturers, Business stakeholders, Research teams, and other relevant internal and external partners. The candidate must possess relevant experience in formulation, process, and commercialization. The individual must be able to write detailed process specifications and project reports and be able to support quality and manufacturing needs as it relates to their projects. Product tasting with different allergen profiles is also part of this position, to contribute to shelf-life studies, product creation, and product changes. The candidate must be able to assess testing plans, gather and analyze data, and make recommendations based on findings. While the candidate will be a member of a team, they will need to be able to lead their assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of innovation, brand value, and quality improvement launches from pilot plant assessment through commercialization, and lead alternative line qualifications, ensuring trial readiness.

  • Develop, update, and maintain process/product specifications for assigned projects.

  • Engage with research technical experts, suppliers, RDQ partners, and Business cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales, PCM, Procurement, Manufacturing, Consumer Science, CIS, and Graphics partners.

Education / Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).

Job specific requirements:

3-5 years of experience with a proven track record of successful product launches and process development technology within the Food Industry is preferred. Strong engineering and process knowledge, with a basic understanding of Food Science and Food Chemistry.

Travel requirements:

Up to 40% domestic and international.

Work schedule:

This position is based in East Hanover, NJ, with a hybrid work model offering a mix of onsite and remote flexibility.

Salary and Benefits: The base salary range for this position is $77,600 to $106,700; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
