Campus Switching & Wireless Deployment – SLED & MSP

Location: Northern / Rural West Virginia
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $85,000 – $130,000 (based on experience and impact)
Experience Required: 10+ years

This Is Not a Remote-Only Role

This is a hands-on engineering position.

You will:

• Work on-site in schools and municipal facilities
• Lead switch and wireless cutovers
• Execute structured deployments
• Troubleshoot production environments
• Travel to client locations when projects require it

Travel may include work throughout:

• West Virginia
• Kentucky
• Ohio
• Maryland / DMV region

If you prefer sitting behind a desk and never entering an IDF, this is not the right role.

MSP & Multi-Client Environment

We are a service-based organization.

You will not manage one static environment.

You will work across 500+ different networks with:

• Mixed switching vendors
• Mixed wireless platforms
• Different design maturity levels
• Different compliance requirements
• Different budget realities

Success in this role requires:

• The ability to follow architecture standards precisely

What You’ll Do

Wired Infrastructure Execution

• Lead switch refresh and modernization projects
• Install and configure core, distribution, and access switches
• Implement VLANs, port security, uplinks, and redundancy
• Execute structured cutovers with minimal downtime
• Validate performance and failover
• Clean up legacy network closets and cabling issues

Primary vendor environments may include:

• Cisco
• Extreme Networks
• Juniper

Experience with Extreme Fabric Connect and/or ExtremeCloud IQ is strongly preferred.

Wireless Deployment & Optimization

• Install and replace enterprise access points
• Execute high-density Wi-Fi deployments in school environments
• Validate coverage and eliminate dead zones
• Tune power levels and channel plans
• Troubleshoot roaming and interference issues
• Align wireless deployment to architectural standards

On-Site Troubleshooting

• Diagnose Layer 1–3 issues
• Resolve performance bottlenecks
• Stabilize production environments
• Support secure segmentation implementation
• Act as technical lead during deployments

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years hands-on enterprise networking experience
• Strong switching deployment background
• Real-world enterprise Wi-Fi experience
• Experience working in SLED, MSP, or multi-client environments
• Comfortable working in ceilings and IDFs when required
• Strong troubleshooting and validation skills
• Professional presence in public-sector environments
• Willingness to travel as projects require

Preferred Certifications

• CCNA / CCNP
• Extreme Certified Professional (ECP) or Extreme Certified Expert (ECE) – Switching or Wireless
• CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator) or equivalent experience
• Vendor-specific switching certifications
