As a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and comfort of both mother and child. Your expertise in patient assessment, pain management, and care planning will be essential in delivering exceptional care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care that meets the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients and their families.

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy
• Utilize appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families
• Develop and revise care plans based on patient response and evaluate daily for effectiveness
• Administer medications correctly, adhering to the five medication rights
• Formulate and implement teaching plans based on identified learning needs
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and families to minimize healthcare errors
• Coordinate with other departments for an interdisciplinary approach to patient care
• Maintain clear communication with unit director, co-workers, and physicians
• Ensure documentation meets current standards and policies
• Manage and operate equipment safely
• Supervise patient care as necessary
• Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and ability to function in stressful situations
• Maintain annual competencies, including bedside blood glucose testing
• COVID-19 vaccine (medical and religious exemptions may apply)

Requirements:

• 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
• Postpartum and nursery experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications (AHA required)
• Active OH or compact nursing license
• BSN degree preferred
