Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Local Candidates Only)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (6 months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Weekends typically off)
Pay Rate: $35–$38/hour

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced Superintendent to support a long-term project in the Pittsburgh market. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for permanent placement and career growth.

Position Summary

The Superintendent will oversee field operations for a security-focused construction project involving parking and controlled-access infrastructure. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong coordination skills, the ability to read construction documents, and experience managing subcontractors. The individual hired will play a key role in supporting market expansion in the Pittsburgh area.

Project Scope

• Installation of parking lot entry gates

• Concrete barriers

• Key card readers and controlled security entry systems

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily on-site construction activities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendors

• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards

• Communicate effectively with internal teams and leadership

• Maintain compliance with project-specific safety and security requirements

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Superintendent or similar leadership role

• Ability to read and interpret construction prints

• Local to the Pittsburgh, PA area (no relocation or per diem)

• Ability to pass a background check and 10-panel drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of controls or light electrical systems (e.g., key card readers)

• Established relationships with subcontractors in the Pittsburgh area

• Experience on security-sensitive or regulated sites

Interview Process

• Initial virtual interview via Microsoft Teams

• Final in-person interview with ownership

• Successful candidate will begin on a temp-to-hire basis
