SUMMARY


A growing, full-service engineering and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Manager to join its Traffic Engineering team. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking for strong career growth, technical development, and hands-on project leadership within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

The firm works with a diverse mix of private and public sector clients, delivering site and transportation engineering solutions. This is a dynamic role involving both technical leadership and project management. The selected candidate will support and mentor junior staff while leading traffic and transportation projects from concept through approval.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing traffic impact and parking studies
  • Performing intersection capacity and operational analyses
  • Designing traffic signal systems and roadway improvements
  • Developing traffic control and maintenance plans
  • Creating signal timing directives
  • Preparing technical reports and agency submissions
  • Supporting zoning and land development permitting
  • Conducting field inspections and coordination
  • Presenting projects to municipal, county, and state agencies
  • The role also includes training and oversight of entry- and mid-level engineers and analysts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 6 years of experience in traffic/transportation engineering
  • Proficiency with Highway Capacity Software and Synchro/SimTraffic
  • Experience with traffic studies, signal design, and roadway projects
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with a growth mindset
  • Experience with zoning and site plan approvals is a plus but not required.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary Range: $100,000 – $180,000 (Commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications, plus bonus eligibility)
