Responsibilities:

Electrical Duties:
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components.
  • Test and replace fuses, solenoids, contactors, relays, proximity and limit switches, circuit breakers, and motor starters.
  • Adjust, troubleshoot, and replace photoelectric sensors (photo eyes).
  • Install conduit, perform wire pulls, and complete wire terminations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Work with single-phase and three-phase power systems, including 110V, 240V, 277V, 480V, and 24V control circuits.
  • Use voltmeters and ammeters to diagnose electrical issues.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot AC and DC control circuits.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace motors and drives as needed.
  • Troubleshot PLCs and ladder logic systems.
  • Cross-reference and replace electrical components with equivalent products from different manufacturers.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting support via phone in coordination with maintenance personnel or machine technicians.
  • Perform general building electrical maintenance.
  • Assist with electrical preventive maintenance (PM) programs.

Mechanical Duties:
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Identify and repair air, water, glue, oil, and steam leaks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumps and pump systems.
  • Service pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace cylinders.
  • Work with a wide range of mechanical hardware, including various sizes and thread types.
  • Fabricate and repair damaged components using welding, fastening, machining, and other methods.
  • Disassemble and reassemble racking systems and production equipment.
  • Install and maintain bushings, bearings, locking collars, sprockets, chains, drive belts, pulleys, tensioners, and related components.
  • Apply proper tolerances, alignment, squareness, and parallel measurements.
  • Lead equipment set up and rigging for roll changes and major repairs.
  • Read and interpret mechanical schematics and prints.
  • Analyze machine operation to quickly diagnose issues and determine the safest and most effective repair method.
  • Assist with mechanical preventive maintenance (PM) activities

Required Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years' industrial electrical/mechanical experience
  • A valid, current driver's license preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with contractors, service techs (onsite/phone support), and fellow employees
  • Understands various aspects of an industrial facility including structural, electrical, plumbing systems, etc.
  • Ability to work additional hours and weekends as necessary to meet business plan objectives
  • Fluent with schematics and blueprints
  • 480V 3 phase wiring expertise
  • Proficiency in MS Excel & Word is a plus
  • Strong industrial trouble shooting skills
  • Comfortable leading a job and working independently
