Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and sustain comprehensive safety, security, and occupational health programs in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
  • Perform job site inspections, hazard analyses, and incident investigations to identify risks, determine root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions in partnership with internal teams.
  • Oversee and continuously improve the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program to ensure proper selection, use, and compliance.
  • Manage workplace injury reporting and workers' compensation claims, maintaining timely communication and follow-up with employees and insurance carriers.
  • Maintain accurate OSHA documentation, including OSHA 300 and 300A logs.
  • Oversee physical security infrastructure such as access control systems, surveillance, and alarm systems; collaborate with vendors on system evaluations, upgrades, implementation, and cost analysis.
  • Establish and maintain access control standards, visitor procedures, and safety and security requirements for contractors.
  • Support emergency planning and response efforts, including evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lockdown protocols, and coordinate with local emergency responders when necessary.
  • Gather, analyze, and present safety and security metrics to identify trends, mitigate risk, and support continuous improvement, providing regular reports to leadership.
  • Coordinate annual hearing conservation testing and related compliance activities.
  • Chair the Safety Committee, facilitate monthly safety meetings, and support employee safety training and refresher programs.
  • Conduct all activities with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment to safeguard people, property, and operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered, including degrees in other disciplines (e.g., Business) with demonstrated workplace safety and regulatory compliance experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an Occupational Health and Safety-focused role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
  • Professional safety certifications are highly preferred.
  • Experience with emergency response planning or incident management is a plus.
  • Exposure to industrial hygiene practices is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards preferred.
  • Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and related productivity tools.
  • Working knowledge of federal OSHA standards as well as applicable state and local safety regulations.
  • Solid understanding of occupational health and safety programs and best practices.
  • Experience handling and assessing chemical-related safety risks.
  • Proven ability to evaluate diverse work environments and conduct hazard assessments and audits.
  • Effective at collaborating with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory agencies in a professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of working independently while also contributing effectively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and adapt quickly in fast-paced or changing environments.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work varied schedules or shifts to maintain adequate safety coverage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
