Job Summary

Serves as the subject matter expert in the development of sourcing strategy associated with the procurement of labor, service, material and equipment needs supporting business unit functions. Understands key business interests of AEP and third parties in the development and writing of the business deal. Applies negotiation techniques and methods to sourcing and contracting objectives. Manages supplier performance, contract compliance, risk, and other areas that support over-arching category management strategies. Leads cross-functional teams and may direct lower level activities associated with sourcing, contracting or operational efforts.

Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Update demand forecasts after engineering releases or schedule changes.
  • Build and/or maintain Power BI/Excel dashboards and send weekly status to project leads.
  • Maintain and analyze materials data - clean, validate and reconcile BOMs, item master, cost, lead times, and supplier attributes.
  • Cost & spend analysis - track material spend, identify cost variance drivers, and support sourcing opportunities and costreduction initiatives.
  • KPI reporting & dashboards - build and maintain reports/dashboards (forecast accuracy, ontime delivery, other supplier performance).
  • Establishes effective relationships with business partners and suppliers to support category strategies.
  • Crossfunctional collaboration - work with procurement, planners, engineering, project managers, and finance to align material plans with projects and budgets.
  • Continuous improvement - identify data/process gaps, recommend and implement improvements (template updates, controls, automation).

What we're looking for:

Procurement Analyst SG6

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, finance, supply chain, or other related field;
  • OR 4 years of relevant work experience.

Experience:

  • In customer service and/or procurement helpful

In addition:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills desired
  • Familiarity with Maximo and Cognos preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) desired with an ability to communicate with business partners, stakeholders, and suppliers

In addition:

  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, comfortable with ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytics, problem-solving, and time management skills desired
  • Familiarity with Maximo and Cognos preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) desired with an ability to communicate with business partners, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Ability to help develop and evolve category management processes and engage suppliers on operational, strategic, and financial issues.
