SUMMARY

The Director of Finance provides strategic financial leadership to support the successful execution of organizational initiatives while maximizing return on investment for stakeholders. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business and financial strategy aligned with overall operational objectives, with a strong focus on financial performance, governance, and long-term value creation. The position requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and adaptable finance leader capable of operating in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all financial and accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with applicable accounting standards and internal reporting formats.
  • Analyze financial performance, forecast revenues and expenses, and develop annual operating budgets and long-range financial plans.
  • Identify and evaluate profit improvement opportunities through cost-benefit analysis, productivity initiatives, and new business strategies.
  • Provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost savings, efficiency gains, and resource optimization.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and risk management processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of the P&L, including proper cost allocation and revenue matching.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial forecasts to support operational decision-making.
  • Lead the development and execution of the annual business plan aligned with organizational strategic goals.
  • Manage working capital and cash flow in accordance with internal policies and stakeholder requirements.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing financial insight and decision support.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and external partners, including auditors and financial advisors.
  • Interpret and manage key contractual and commercial terms relevant to financial performance and reporting.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior financial leadership experience in a hotel/resort environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Strong proficiency with enterprise financial systems and reporting platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
  • Proven track record of strategic financial planning and revenue optimization.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
  • Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling as required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict management capabilities.
