Quality Control Technician

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the internal quality of goods through inspection of products such as sheet metal and structural weldments, machine shop parts, painted items for conformance to specifications, quality standards, dimensional accuracy, and customer requirements.

Summary of essential Job functions:

• Works from and interprets fairly complicated sketches, drawings, blueprints, routings, product specifications, and quality requirements, to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications
• Perform visual inspections of finished products
• Examines product from fabrication, machining or paint departments for defects
• Analyzes and rejects defective parts.  Identifies type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag
• Accurately completes all required documentation
• Work with Team Leaders and Management quality issues
• Ensure compliance of the materials used in the production and follow up with purchase orders and certificate of materials (MTR)

Qualifications required:

• High school diploma or equivalency
• A Technical Degree is preferred
• 1+ years of Quality Control experience, and working with metal/welds preferred
• Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and tape measures
• Excellent Judgment/Decision making
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Analytical Abilities
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to do detailed work with a high degree of accuracy
• Must be self-motivated, and possess the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, with a positive attitude
