Clinical Lab Technologist accurately processes blood and bone marrow correlative study samples of clinical trial patients enrolled in studies conducted by the OSU Clinical Trials Office to include: ficoll separation of cells for mononuclear isolation, cryopreservation of cells, preparation of cellular lysates, selection of CD19 and B cells, appropriate labeling, storage and completion and maintenance of documentation on samples for protocol compliance; retrieves and ships samples, coordinates and organizes sample schedules and protocol records to include: communicates between laboratory and clinic staff, prepares protocol books for trial startup, updates protocol records to reflect changes in protocol, inventory control and quality control of human biological samples, data management; grows and maintains cell lines; prepares lysates for experimental controls; prepares and maintains a supply of common solutions for laboratory; maintains quality lab environment including cleanup and organization; and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelors degree in Biology or related field required; good working knowledge of principles, operations and maintenance of laboratory procedures and equipment is required;
