About this opportunity:

A Quality Specialist serves as a customer and quality champion for specific lines or areas of the retail business by analyzing customer feedback and connecting it to product and process opportunities in order to meet quality and business objectives. This role is both vendor facing as well as Operational focused and supports and leads quality projects to ensure vendor compliance and overall performance to Miller Knoll Retails expectations. This includes internal projects that focus on process improvements that drive value and overall cost savings to the bottom line. This role interacts with and supports many diverse groups within the retail and contract side of the business. Work consists of both independent and team focused work and includes, but is not limited to the following.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively supports and drives resolutions to our quality corrective action process by taking the lead on managing the Smartsheet's corrective action process with our internal teams and taking ownership for Procurement owned issues with our vendors.

  • Supports the formulation and drives improvement to our customer claim quality resolution process, by taking an active role in the improvement of communication and follow through with our vendor base.

  • Takes an active role in the on-boarding and pre-launch activities with vendors to ensure quality measures are not only understood but can be achieved.

  • Manages the Customer returns data and utilizes it to create reports that drive action in the rectification of quality issues. Utilizes this data to conduct monthly/quarterly/annual quality reviews with our vendors.

  • Support the quality teams efforts in broadcasting and overall follow up on vendor claims to ensure that claims are being completed and processed.

  • Works with other MillerKnoll internal departments to drive quality standards and to enhance our team's knowledge of our product.

  • Co-lead and/or participate in "Big Picture" projects to go after systemic quality problems that effect our overall return rate.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of practical experience.

  • Proven understanding of Quality Assurance principles and customer-first culture.

  • Must be able to assess process concepts and to determine where continuous improvement opportunities exist.

  • Capable of being able to research, dig in, evaluate, and utilize best practice business principles to root cause and drive effective results.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with people at various levels including production, engineering, and management and to be able to work well with and develop a partnering relationship with other team member.

  • Demonstrated business sense and understanding of how decisions impact business results.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once, demonstrating a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

  • Willing to take ownership of issues and drive positive resolution.
