Job Summary:
Assists the Quality Control Manager with planning, scheduling, and supervising Quality Control Line Inspectors within the Quality Control Department. Directs quality assurance personnel in performing QA activities, including inspections, documentation, and document control, to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.

As a Plant Manager, You Will:

• Supervise Quality Control Line Inspectors and the Quality Assurance unit, ensuring proper attendance and coverage across all production areas
• Administer disciplinary actions when required, in accordance with policies and applicable regulations
• Review and audit production paperwork, batch records, QC inspection reports, and sanitation records for accuracy, completeness, yield calculations, and specification compliance
• Ensure all QC/QA procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) are followed
• Promote and enforce Food Safety, FDA regulations, and internal policies
• Coordinate and expedite rush orders for finished goods, raw materials, and packaging materials
• Manage rework, reconditioning, and inventory reconciliation activities with production and inventory control
• Oversee quarantined product activities, including retesting, deviations, NCMR processing, and product disposition
• Review and approve micro releases, labels, packaging, and related documentation
• Maintain item categories, retest dates, and lot status in Oracle
• Conduct monthly internal GMP audits across departments and generate audit reports
• Monitor and drive adherence to organizational KPIs
• Lead product failure investigations and customer complaint resolution activities
• Coordinate employee training programs and ensure training records are compliant
• Oversee calibration, preventive maintenance, and assist with environmental and pest control programs
• Assist with Food Safety, Food Defense, HACCP, and process monitoring programs
• Support FDA, ISO, NSF, Kosher, Halal, and other external audits
• Stay current with CFR regulations related to food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the QC/QA Manager
• Directly supervise Quality Control Inspectors
• Train, assign, and direct work in compliance with policies and applicable laws
• Assist with interviewing, performance evaluations, recognition, and disciplinary actions

Skills/Requirements:

• 3-4 years of supervisory experience in a quality control role within the food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience working on the floor of a manufacturing facility is required.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, microbiology, or food science from an accredited four-year college or university
• Alternatively, a master's degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory quality control experience in a food, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
