Job Description: Service Technology Engineer Power
Vertiv is seeking a Service Technology Engineer Power to support the development, introduction, and continuous improvement of power products and services. This role is responsible for ensuring service readiness, integrating emerging technologies, and driving operational excellence for power solutions. The engineer will collaborate with R&D, product management, and service teams to implement serviceability standards, develop technical documentation, and support innovation initiatives that enhance the performance and reliability of Vertivs power portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with R&D engineering and product management to implement serviceability standards and the Global Serviceability Specification in new power products.
- Participate in design reviews, product reviews, and phase-gate sessions to represent service requirements and provide feedback to engineering and management.
- Develop and maintain maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and service documentation for power systems.
- Support logistics with spare parts planning, research, and sourcing for new and existing power products.
- Validate service processes through lab-based testing and first-article evaluations.
- Provide technical input for service plans and ensure readiness for field deployment.
- Contribute to the integration of emerging technologies such as predictive analytics, IoT solutions, and digital service platforms to improve service efficiency and operational excellence.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory standards, and best practices to incorporate advancements into service strategies.
- Support the development and maintenance of a cohort of subject matter experts to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the service organization.
- Foster cross-functional relationships with regional service teams, global business units, and external partners to capture feedback and drive service enhancements.
- Participate in pilots and validation of new solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Maintain a customer-centric approach and contribute to a culture of safety, integrity, and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in service engineering, technical support, or product development for power systems.
- Strong understanding of UPS systems, power distribution, and monitoring platforms.
- Experience with predictive analytics, IoT ecosystems, and digital service platforms is preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and technical schematics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
- Occasional travel for internal reviews, pilots, and training (up to 15%).
