Job Description
A large family owned Lawncare Company in beautiful New Albany, MS is looking for an Operations Manager. You would be working directly with the owner to assist him while he is working on building the company for expansion. LawnCare Operations Manager
Purpose of the Role: Directs and coordinates all production activities, meets budget standards, assures maximum use of service personnel, equipment, and materials, and ensures alignment with our high service approach towards our customers. Works in coordination with the Sales and Customer Service Manager to ensure sales goals and service standards are met. Works in coordination with the Controller to ensure financial standards are met. Reports to the owner. Has three production managers and an office manager as direct reports, subject to change with growth. Primarily responsible for the existing service area as owner focuses on expansion opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may also be assigned. Executive Management
• Delegate reporting and management of objectives to direct reports
• Hold direct reports accountable to LPS standards
• Review weekly and monthly reports as needed with direct reports
• Coordinate office operations, leading the Office Manager
• Lead weekly meetings with office staff, managers meeting and production meeting.
• Ensure production managers have a plan for leading weekly safety and tech meeting. Participate in this meeting each week.
• Attend weekly sales meeting
Financial
• Work with owner and controller to develop and maintain budgets
• Responsible for all department budgets
• Work with controller and office manager to monitor account receivables
• Review monthly reports, and understand the P&L
• Review completed services and ensure service cycle is on track in CRM
• Monitor CRM reports for missed/skipped services and hold production managers accountable to service cycle completion within established timeframes
• Understand cash flow requirements with the owner and controller
• Responsible for implementing the Business Plan
• Responsible for Revenue Projections with the Controller
• Meet weekly with the Controller and Owner to review financials
Client Management
• Coordinate with Sales & Customer Service Manager for the following:
o Ensure sales and service standards are met
o Ensure production managers and technicians uphold sales goals through upsells to clients
o Set quality benchmarks and monitor through regular inspections by account managers and production managers
o Develop and maintain a quality program to ensure client satisfaction
Employee Management
• Develops and implements recruiting strategy
• Establishes training program for all employees
• Performs supervisory training for key employees
• Establishes career paths for key employees
• Makes wage and compensation recommendations for all employees
• Reviews and assists with seasonal labor reductions if needed
• Coordinates and communicates concerns production and customer service teams
• Responsible for all disciplinary actions and procedures
• Responsible for crew morale, and develops morale boosters Safety Management
• Manage current safety program ensuring assigned manager upholds program
• Enforce compliance of all safety initiatives
• Monitor state and federal safety laws, including OSHA
• Monitor and assist company safety manager with weekly meetings
Field Management
• Establish labor and material budgets
• Monitors job performance with contract specifications
• Ensure managers schedule seasonal work
• Implement Agronomic and Pest Management Programs in coordination with owner
• Maintain job calendars/ensure management and completion of rounds
• Create and manage incentive programs
• Manage and revise round completion dates based upon actual performance
• Monitor the Production Managers’ execution and implementation of training program
Equipment/Shop Management
• Verify Production Managers provide proper training and use of batch mix system for lawn rounds
• Verify technician equipment inventories monthly
• Monitor vehicles and equipment for life expectancy and implement replacement schedule on yearly budget
• Monitor proper chemical storage and monthly inventory
• Monitor Production Managers’ supervision of safe use of shop equipment and training for all employees
• Monitor employee use of Fleetio software
Office and Administrative
• Maintain administration of relevant reporting systems
• Plan and manage company resources according to agreed budgets
• May establish office and administrative procedures
• Establishes a professional office environment
• Reviews office needs on a yearly basis
License and Permits
• Maintain proper category certifications in Mississippi and Tennessee
• Responsible for coordination of certification or licensing of all relevant employees
Brand and Compliance
• Responsible for Brand and Compliance expectations
• Maintain core values as stated by Company and ensure compliance with Vision and Mission Statements
